Culture and perfumery came together on a truly unique occasion, merging two countries separated by distance yet deeply connected through shared heritage and values.
The official launch event for The Merchant of Venice in Japan took place at the Italian Embassy in Tokyo, a historic residence in the heart of the city, with a garden dating back to Japan’s Edo Period, transforming it into a stage for the unveiling of a fragrance dedicated to the iconic Maria Callas.
We took great pride in gathering in this extraordinary setting alongside key industry figures, renowned international media, and representatives from leading department stores, such as the Isetan-Mitsukoshi Group — with whom we attended the latest edition of Salon de Parfum, celebrating the launch of Callas with perfume enthusiasts and influencers in a masterclass on Maria Callas, led by CEO Marco Vidal and perfumer Yann Vasnier.
Also essential to the event at the embassy was the Yamano family, a historic name in the industry and The Merchant of Venice’s partner in Japan.
Our sincere thanks to the Italian Ambassador Gianluigi Benedetti for his hospitality, to Nina Yamano for her invaluable support, and to Eri Nakamura, a brilliant soprano whose prestigious presence and unique voice enriched the evening.
