In 2023, 100 years after the birth of Maria Callas, The Merchant of Venice signs a licensing agreement with the Maria Callas Estate to produce and distribute the first perfume in history that will bear the name and will be dedicated to La Divina.
Legitimately managed by members of Maria Callas' family, the Maria Callas Estate’s goal and ambition is to preserve and communicate to current and new generations, the Divina's artistic and personal legacy, encouraging activities and planning initiatives to promote her singular artistry and personality.
It is a great honour, therefore, for The Merchant of Venice to have been appointed by the Maria Callas Estate as one of the official partners in the program of events beginning on December 2nd, 2023 for the celebration of this milestone anniversary.
This collaboration will be intensified by the creation of a fragrance dedicated to the great soprano.
A modern Eau de Parfum, designed by the creative team of The Merchant of Venice, who is working with care in order to successfully represent the Divina's multifaceted and timeless personality. Even the perfume bottle will be a tribute to Maria Callas, an unmistakable icon of style and elegance, drawing inspiration from her most emblematic looks and accessories.
The fragrance will be officially launched on December 5th, 2023 in the beautiful setting of the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice. The great Venetian institution represents one of the most important and serene chapters in Maria Callas' life and houses a permanent exhibition of historical images of her, during her years in the city.
